Parents & Caregivers Invited to Join Online and Have Their Public Health Questions Answered

Peterborough Public Health is inviting local parents and caregivers to join a live online conversation with Medical Officer of Health Dr. Rosana Salvaterra to address frequently asked questions relating to schools and preventing the spread of COVID-19.

This virtual event will take place on Monday, October 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. using MS Teams. Registration information is available on Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/schools-covid-19-virtual-live-presentation-for-parents-tickets-126130747461. Can search “Peterborough Public Health” on Eventbrite.

“My colleagues and I have been gathering common concerns and questions raised by local families over the past few weeks, and we wanted to create this opportunity to come together and address them as a community,” said Dr. Salvaterra. “Now that our school families have experienced what it’s like to have students return to the classroom, we believe this is a good time to answer these questions about public health measures.”

Parents and caregivers with public health-related questions about schools are encouraged to email them in advance to info@peterboroughpublichealth.ca so Dr. Salvaterra can address them during her presentation.

Dr. Salvaterra will share a 15-minute slide show covering the most frequently asked questions Peterborough Public Health has received since schools reopened, followed by an opportunity for viewers to ask questions through the online chat function. The presentation is geared to school families, and there is no charge to participate. Parents and caregivers with administrative or school policy-related questions are encouraged to speak directly with their local school board.

Participants are asked to register on Eventbrite so they can receive a link to the event and any follow up resources. The presentation will be recorded and will be shared on the School Reopening webpage at  www.peterboroughpublichealth.ca.
