Peterborough Public Health (PPH) announced several updates to its COVID-19 vaccination clinic schedule across the region today.

Three new “pop-up” walk-in clinic dates for residents 18 years of age or older have been added for communities in Peterborough County – here are the details:

Apsley
Tuesday, August 3, 2021 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
North Kawartha Community Centre
340 McFadden Rd, Apsley ON

Buckhorn
Saturday, August 7, 2021 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Buckhorn Community Centre
1782 Lakehurst Rd., Apsley ON

Millbrook
Tuesday, August 17, 2021 – 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Cavan Monaghan Community Centre
986 Peterborough County Rd 10, Millbrook ON

These clinics will offer both first and second doses of mRNA vaccines for residents who are aged 18 and up – no appointment necessary. Individuals become eligible for their second dose of the vaccine 28 days after their first dose.  Residents who currently have second dose appointments booked in September are strongly encouraged to rebook into earlier clinics. Those who would prefer to have an appointment will have the option to book into the above clinics using the provincial booking site at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/ or over the phone at 1-833-943-3900.

“Our mass immunization clinics have lots of availability, yet there are still approximately 15,000 eligible local residents who unvaccinated,” said Dr. Salvaterra, Medical Officer of Health.  “We still have a long way to go before we reach herd immunity in Peterborough.  By bringing the vaccine to our rural communities through these walk-in clinics, I’m hoping we can make it even more convenient for County residents to get the added protection of a two-dose summer.”

Changes to Evinrude Vaccination Clinic

As PPH transitions to a more targeted and efficient vaccine delivery model, the Evinrude clinic will be moving back to the multipurpose room at Evinrude Centre.  The clinic will be closed from Friday, July 30 to Monday, August 2 inclusive for the move, and will reopen on Tuesday, August 3. Both appointments and walk-ins for eligible residents will continue to be available until further notice. PPH will also be providing live updates on walk-in lines at the Evinrude vaccine clinic on Twitter.  Follow @Ptbohealth for more information.

Get Your First or Second Dose and Win Great Prizes!

To encourage greater vaccine uptake to achieve herd immunity and fully protect our community, PPH is excited to announce a weekly raffle for first and second doses at the Evinrude and pop-up clinics.  PPH will be drawing names for two winners every week for the next four weeks.  Each winner will receive a $50.00 gift card from the Downtown Business Improvement Association (DBIA) that can be used in the downtown Peterborough area.  To see a list of participating businesses, please visit https://theboro.ca/product/the-boro-gift-cards/.
