Pop-Up Vaccination Clinic for All Township of North Kawartha Residents

In partnership with the Township of North Kawartha, Peterborough Public Health is holding a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic for local residents aged 12 and older on Thursday, July 15 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the North Kawartha Community Centre, located at 340 McFadden Rd. in Apsley.

To book an appointment, please call the Township of North Kawartha office at 705-656-4445 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. This clinic is not part of the provincial vaccination booking system and can only be booked by calling this number. Booking an appointment will guarantee one dose of an mRNA vaccine. Walk-ins for first doses only are also welcome.

“We are grateful to our municipal partners who mobilized quickly to help us to organize this dedicated vaccination clinic for North Kawartha residents,” said Dr. Rosana Salvaterra, Medical Officer of Health. “Given the number of recent local cases this pop-up is meant to provide quick and easy access to the best protection we have to offer against COVID-19 – and that’s immunization. The COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are the best way to defend yourself and stop the spread, especially in the context of the new variants of concern, like Alpha and Delta which are much more contagious.”

PPH has previously held vaccination clinics at the North Kawartha Community Centre on April 11-13 and June 26.

“On behalf of all North Kawarthans, I want to thank Peterborough Public Health, the Peterborough Family Health Team, Township Staff and NK Volunteer Firefighters for collaborating so quickly to bring this clinic to Apsley. It’s close, accessible and easy for any resident who wants to get the vaccine,” said Mayor Carolyn Amyotte of the Township of North Kawartha.

For those requiring a drive to the vaccination clinic, please contact the Ontario Community Support Association who is arranging rides to vaccination appointments for a fee. Rides must be booked online 48 hours before your appointment by calling 211 or at this website: https://www.ontariocommunitysupport.ca/accessible-drive-to-vaccines-program
