Farmers’ Market Food Safety Inspections
Peterborough Public Health (PPH) is mandated by provincial legislation to perform food safety inspections of all farmers’ market food vendors within our jurisdiction. The purpose of these inspections is to prevent or reduce cases of food-borne illness.

Consumers can check this site for a listing of recalls and allergy alerts about food products which do not meet Canadian safety and quality standards. The reasons for these notices and actions may range from an undeclared ingredient to a product which has been contaminated.
