Board Resolution Recognizes Healthcare Workers’ Vital Role During COVID-19 Pandemic

At its recent January 13 Board of Health meeting, board members passed a unanimous resolution recognizing local healthcare workers as heroes, and thanking them for their selfless and steadfast efforts in the fight against COVID-19.

“This resolution is intended to shine a light on the impressive efforts of our local healthcare workers for their tireless work on the front lines of this pandemic,” said Andy Mitchell, chair of the Board of Health and Mayor of Selwyn Township. “Thanks to their ability to deliver quality health care amid these challenges, these workers have made a significant positive difference in the public health outcomes of our community.”

The board’s resolution expressed its deep respect and appreciation for local healthcare workers for all they have done, and are continuing to do now that the COVID-19 vaccine is rolling out into the community.

“We are so fortunate to have a dedicated group of healthcare professionals serving our community, who are willing to make personal sacrifices and persevere for the sake of our collective public health,” said Mayor Mitchell. “There’s no doubt in my mind that their efforts are a big reason why our rates of COVID-19 spread are lower than in other regions.”
