Vitamin D

All babies need Vitamin D.   Deficiency of this nutrient can lead to a bone disease called rickets.

Vitamin D is already added to infant formula.

Babies who are breastfed or partially breastfed should receive a vitamin D supplement of 10µg (400 IU) per day. When your baby starts getting enough vitamin D from other foods, generally around one year of age, you can stop giving the supplement.
