Physical activity for pregnant women:

  • You can engage in moderate physical activity, such as prenatal yoga
  • Avoid activities that involve lying on your back or that put you at risk for injury

Benefits of moderate activity:

  • Relieves stress and fatigue
  • Improves mental and emotional health
  • Increases strength and flexibility
  • Prevents chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease, for both mom and baby
  • Promotes better labour outcomes

Being active during pregnancy  has many benefits, including reducing pregnancy discomforts, improving mood, sleep and energy levels, and promoting appropriate weight gain.
