Partners in Aging Well (PIAW)
Partners In Aging Well is a Peterborough regional group of organizations and individuals that aim to contribute towards the overall reduction in the incidence of preventable falls and injuries due to falls among older adults across Peterborough City and County.
The group works to take a central and lead role to:
- Identify risk factors for falls;
- Decrease the incidence of falls; and
- Decrease the incidence of injurious falls.
PIAW will provide leadership and direction to advocate for community wide Falls Prevention strategies, initiatives, research and policy, and interventions in Peterborough County and City.
PIAW will do this through partnership and collaboration with those who have a primary interest or role in Falls Prevention. PIAW will identify evidence based interventions and services and activities, which address the known risk factors causing falls among older adults. PIAW may seek and leverage funds and resources to undertake this work

The group meets about every six weeks. Membership is free and new members are welcome. If you are passionate about falls prevention in older adults and would like to speak to someone about becoming a partner, call 705-743-1000 ext 354.
