Infection Control

The Public Health investigates diseases of public health significance. These diseases may be easily transmitted from one person to another, cause significant illness or deaths, be monitored for surveillance purposes, or need to have specific public health control measures applied. In Ontario, certain individuals have the duty to report these diseases to Public Health. Public Health staff can provide information on controlling and preventing these diseases.
